The incident occurred shortly before 8:20 a.m. when a blue Mitsubishi Colt bakkie, a silver Renault Triber, and a white Hyundai Getz were involved in the crash. Emergency responders, including members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) who happened to be passing by en route to another call, arrived promptly at the scene around 8:18 a.m. Metro Police officers also stopped to provide assistance.
