READ: Fatal Collision on N2 Near Scottburgh Claims One Life

Scottburgh, 14 May 2025 – A tragic collision between two light motor vehicles on the N2 near Scottburgh left one driver dead and another seriously injured on Wednesday morning.

IPSS Medical Rescue responded to the scene, where one driver was found critically injured and trapped in the wreckage. IPSS Medical Rescue Advanced Life Support Paramedics provided care while the Umdoni Fire Department worked to extricate the driver. Due to the severity of the injuries, the Air Mercy Service (AMS) helicopter was dispatched to airlift the patient to a specialized medical facility. Despite the efforts of the Casualty Trauma team, the driver succumbed to their injuries shortly after arrival.

The second driver sustained serious injuries and was transported by road to a nearby medical facility for treatment.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
