In a shocking incident in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, Nkululeko Zulu discovered that his girlfriend of two years, Diyana Makukeke, had faked a pregnancy and the subsequent death of their supposed child.

Zulu, 44, from Machibini in Mandeni, provided financial support to Makukeke throughout what he believed was her pregnancy. Makukeke, also 44 and originally from Machibini but currently residing in Newlands, claimed the baby had passed away and arranged a funeral.

Zulu spent money preparing for the burial, including digging a grave next to family plots and slaughtering a goat. He also purchased food for the event.

On the day of the funeral, Makukeke arrived in the morning in a van with the coffin and refused to open it. Zulu's brother insisted on opening the coffin to view the baby. Upon opening it, they found a doll inside instead of a child.

Zulu expressed his distress, stating, "She said the baby died, but showed no proof. I waited. She never came. When she finally arrived, everything fell apart." He is struggling to cope with the deception.

The event has left the local community in shock.
