READ: Welkom Police Arrest Five Murder Suspects in Separate Operations

Welkom, 28 April 2025 – The Welkom Public Order Police (POP) unit has apprehended five male suspects wanted for murder in two separate operations over the weekend.

On Saturday, 26 April 2025, police acted on information regarding the location of two suspected murderers. The suspects were traced to a residence in Bronville, where two 23-year-old males were arrested for murder.

In a second operation on Sunday, 27 April 2025, POP members, while conducting crime prevention patrols, received information about three additional murder suspects. The tip led them to a house in Thabong, where three males, aged 19 and 34, were arrested for murder.

All five suspects are expected to appear in the Welkom Magistrate’s Court in the coming days.
