In a shocking case that has gripped the community, three members of the Willis family stood before the Nkomazi Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, charged with the murder of 80-year-old Freddy George Willis. The accused, identified as George Kenedy Willis (55), the victim’s son; Kenny Rudolph Willis (29), his grandson; and Nomvula Lucy Willis (75), his wife, are set to remain behind bars until their formal bail hearing on 6 May 2025.
Police reports indicate that the incident unfolded at the Willis family home, where George Kenedy Willis was reportedly visiting his parents. According to authorities, he was ambushed outside the residence by two armed individuals wearing balaclavas. The assailants allegedly restrained him with a cable before entering the home, where they shot Freddy Willis at close range, resulting in his death.
Following the attack, law enforcement swiftly opened a murder investigation. Intensive police work led to the arrest of the three family members, who are now suspected of orchestrating the deadly assault. Investigators have not disclosed specific motives but confirmed that the case remains active, with the possibility of further arrests as new evidence emerges.
