READ: Fatal Head-On Crash on N1 in Bloemfontein Leaves One Dead, Two Injured

Bloemfontein, June 11, 2025 – A devastating head-on collision on the N1 south of the Walter Sisulu offramp claimed one life and left two people seriously injured on Wednesday morning.

The incident, reported shortly after 10:00, involved two vehicles, with one overturning due to the force of the impact. Emergency services, including Priority Care, ER24, and Bloemfontein and Mangaung Fire and Rescue, responded promptly. Fire and rescue teams used specialized equipment to extricate trapped occupants from the wreckage.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene, while the two injured individuals were stabilized and transported to nearby hospitals. The N1 experienced significant traffic disruptions in both directions as authorities managed the scene.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash, which remains undetermined.
