La Mercy, KZN – On Tuesday evening at approximately 7:49 PM, a woman from Johannesburg, holidaying in KwaZulu-Natal, reported a disturbing incident on South Beach in La Mercy. The woman, who was taking selfies on the beach, claimed she saw a naked man engaging in inappropriate behavior near what she believed was a deceased body wrapped in a bag.
The report was relayed to Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) through a Tongaat businessman who received a call from the distressed woman. She stated that she fled the beach and reported the incident at a nearby restaurant.
RUSA officers responded promptly, interviewing the woman and conducting a search of the area. The suspected "body" was located and identified as a bag of discarded rubber waste dumped near the beach. No human remains were found. Officers also searched for the unidentified man described in the report. Local residents confirmed seeing a naked male walking along South Beach Road, but RUSA was unable to locate him.

The incident, initially alarming, was resolved as a case of mistaken identity regarding the waste material. Authorities continue to investigate the whereabouts of the unidentified individual.
