
Fatal Head-On Collision in Hammersdale Claims One Life, Injures Four

Hammersdale, KwaZulu-Natal – A tragic head-on collision on Mthoko Mkhize Drive in Hammersdale, west of Durban, left one man dead and four others injured in the early hours of this morning. The incident occurred shortly before 5:30 AM, involving a taxi and a light motor vehicle.
Emergency services, including multiple ambulances, responded to the scene where they encountered a devastating crash site. Paramedics conducted a rapid triage and discovered one man, believed to be in his forties, severely trapped in the wreckage. Despite efforts, he had sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead at the scene.
Four other individuals from both vehicles sustained a range of injuries. Paramedics stabilized them on-site before transporting them to hospitals in Pietermaritzburg for further treatment.
The cause of the collision remains unclear, and the South African Police Service (SAPS) is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. Authorities are expected to provide updates as more details emerge.
