WATCH: Retired Municipal Worker Fatally Shot in Mt. Moriah Tuck Shop

Mt. Moriah, KwaZulu-Natal – A former employee of the Ethekwini Municipality was gunned down in a targeted shooting at his informal business on Thursday.

Responders from Reaction Unit South Africa reached the location and discovered the victim still seated in a chair within the tuck shop. He had sustained gunshot wounds to his chest and left arm. Medical personnel declared him dead at the site.

Investigators collected three empty 9mm bullet casings from the area.

Eyewitness accounts indicate that an individual stepped out of a white Volkswagen Polo, walked into the shop, fired at the man, and then escaped in the same vehicle.

The victim had been running the tuck shop following his retirement from municipal service. Authorities are probing the circumstances surrounding the attack.
