Cape Town, May 19, 2025 – A mass shooting in Parkwood, Cape Town, claimed the lives of three men and left a fourth injured on the evening of May 18, 2025. The incident occurred at approximately 7:50 PM on Kiewiet Way, outside a residence in the Grassy Park policing precinct.
According to police reports, four men were seated outside when unknown suspects in a white vehicle opened fire. Three victims, believed to be in their thirties and forties, were pronounced dead at the scene. The fourth victim was rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment. The South African Police Service’s Anti-Gang Unit is investigating the triple murder, with preliminary findings pointing to gang-related motives.
No arrests have been made, and the identities of the victims and suspects remain undisclosed. Authorities are urging witnesses to come forward with information to assist the ongoing investigation.
This shooting follows a pattern of gang-related violence in the Western Cape, with recent incidents reported in Atlantis and Mitchells Plain. Police have increased deployments in identified hotspots to curb further violence.
